Liverpool may have already lifted the Premier League trophy, but their job isn’t quite finished. On Monday night, they head to the South Coast for a final away day at Brighton – a side still chasing Europe.

Liverpool Wobbling into the Finish Line?

The Reds have been nearly flawless this season, but a dramatic 2-2 draw against Arsenal last weekend showed some late-season fatigue. Arne Slot’s men were 2-0 up at the break, only to let it slip in the second half – with Trent Alexander-Arnold (ironically) playing a key role in Arsenal’s equaliser on what could be one of his last Anfield outings.

They haven’t lost three on the bounce in the league all season, and they’ll be keen to avoid that blemish on their record in the final game on the road.

Brighton Still in the Hunt

Unlike their visitors, Brighton still have something to play for. Fabian Hürzeler’s side beat Wolves 2-0 last time out, keeping their dream of European qualification alive. Danny Welbeck hit double digits for the season, and Brajan Gruda added the second late on.

Depending on how things shake out in the table and with Chelsea in Europe, eighth place might be enough to sneak into the Conference League. Brighton will be going for it.

Injury Updates

Liverpool are still without Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton. Conor Bradley could be rested after starting last weekend, which might open the door for Alexander-Arnold to start — if the boss dares. Salah, meanwhile, is chasing a record: one more goal and he’ll hold the Premier League’s all-time record for away goals in a single season (17).

Brighton are in better shape. Joao Pedro returns from suspension, and both Lewis Dunk and Joel Veltman are fit again. However, James Milner, Ferdi Kadioglu and Solly March remain out.

Predicted XIs

Brighton: Verbruggen; Wieffer, Dunk, Van Hecke, Estupiñán; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Pedro, Mitoma; Welbeck
Liverpool: Alisson; Bradley, Quansah, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Endo, Mac Allister; Salah, Jones, Gakpo; Diaz

What to Expect

Liverpool are already champions, but they won’t want to end their campaign with a whimper. Brighton, on the other hand, are still fighting for something meaningful. That alone makes the Seagulls a real threat.

With attacking talent on both sides and a recent history of high-scoring clashes, goals are likely. But form, motivation, and home advantage lean in Brighton’s favour.

Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Liverpool
The Seagulls swoop in for a final-day upset and possibly, a European ticket.
